# Shopify Guide

## **Multilingual support**

Cartally automatically detects and indexes products in all languages configured in Shopify.

* Search works in the language selected by the customer.
* Autocomplete suggestions match the store’s current language.
* If a product is not translated, the store’s default language is used.

## **AI limits and monitoring**

Each plan has a defined AI request limit. You can monitor current usage in the Cartally dashboard.

* The dashboard shows usage compared to the available limit.
* When 90% of the limit is reached, an automatic email notification is sent.
* If you regularly approach the limit, consider changing your plan.
* Search queries have a separate limit, independent from AI chat requests.

## **Product synchronization**

Products are synchronized with Cartally in real time using webhooks. Any product change in Shopify should appear in the search catalog shortly after editing.

Additionally, a full catalog sync runs once every 24 hours to ensure data consistency.

## **Currencies and localization**

Cartally automatically supports currencies configured in Shopify Markets.

* Ensure all active markets have correct currency settings.
* Customers always see prices in their local currency.
* If a price is not available in a given currency, the store’s default currency is used.

## **Billing model**

Cartally uses a usage-based billing model combined with a monthly or annual subscription.

* **Subscription** – fixed monthly or annual fee for the selected plan
* **Plan limits** – defined number of searches and AI requests
* **Overage** – extra charge for exceeding the limit (if enabled)

## **Search widget customization**

### **Enabling the widget in your store**

To enable the Cartally AI Search widget in your store:

1. Go to **Online Store → Themes** in the Shopify admin.
2. Click **Customize** for your current theme.
3. Open the **App embeds** tab (third icon on the left panel).
4. Enable **Cartally AI Search**.
5. Save changes.

### **Widget placement in the store**

The Cartally widget can be displayed in two ways:

* **Replace native search** — Cartally automatically takes over the theme’s default search.
* **Custom selector** — the widget can be attached to specific page elements using CSS selectors, e.g. .header\_\_search-btn.

### **Widget branding and appearance**

The widget's appearance can be customized in the app panel, under **Widget** in the sidebar.

* **Accent Color** — main brand color used throughout the widget UI (default: black).
* **Logo URL** — URL to a logo image file. The logo should be publicly accessible online.

  With these settings, the widget can visually match your store's branding.

## **Email notifications**

Cartally sends automatic notifications about key account events.

* 90% limit reached – consider upgrading your plan.
* 100% limit reached – search or AI may be restricted.
* New subscription – confirmation of plan activation.

## **Customer data security**

Cartally does not store personal data of store customers.

**Stored data:**

* Product catalog (public data).
* Anonymous search statistics.
* Chat sessions without user identification.

Cartally does not store customer, order, or payment information.

## **Troubleshooting**

### **Products not appearing in search**

Check if:

* The product is published (not in draft).
* The product is available in the Online Store channel.
* The product has a title and description.

### **AI does not respond or is slow**

Possible reasons:

* The AI request limit has been reached.
* There is temporary system overload.
* The query is very complex.

**Solution:** Check **Dashboard → Usage Overview → AI Requests**.

### **Pro tips – seasonal boost**

Before periods of high traffic, such as holidays or Black Friday, consider a temporary plan upgrade.

**Recommended strategy:**

* Upgrade your plan about a week before the event.
* Monitor usage in real time.
* After the campaign, revert to your previous plan.
